Platform Engineer (AI)

TL;DR

Platform Engineer (AI Infrastructure): Building and scaling the core infrastructure and backend systems for an RL training data platform with an accent on reliability, performance, and developer experience. Focus on designing resilient service architectures, optimizing AWS/Kubernetes environments, and implementing robust CI/CD workflows to support frontier AI agents.

Location: On-site in San Francisco, CA. Visa sponsorship and relocation to the US are provided for strong full-time candidates.

hirify.global builds infrastructure to create RL training data and evaluations for frontier AI agents, including a marketplace for frontier labs.

What you will do

• Own production uptime, latency, provisioning speed, and incident response for core platform services.
• Maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform, Kubernetes/EKS, Helm, Docker, and associated networking/secrets management.
• Design and improve scalable backend systems, focusing on capacity planning, autoscaling, queueing, and rollback paths.
• Define observability standards, including dashboards, SLOs, and runbooks to ensure rapid failure resolution.
• Build reliable CI/CD pipelines and release automation to improve developer productivity and reduce production risk.
• Write maintainable code to automate systems and create internal tooling.

Requirements

• Experience owning production cloud infrastructure for high-availability, user-facing platforms.
• Deep expertise with AWS (EKS, EC2, S3, IAM) and containerized systems.
• Proven ability to operate CI/CD, environment management, and incident response systems.
• Strong backend engineering judgment regarding service architecture, APIs, databases, and async systems.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code applied to infrastructure and product architecture.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Nice to have

• Experience operating infrastructure for ML/AI, marketplace, or developer-tools platforms.
• Expertise in designing systems for bursty workloads, long-running jobs, or high-concurrency services.
• Track record of reducing cloud spend through architectural and observability optimizations.
• Experience building internal developer platforms.
