Quality Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Manage and maintain the QMS in accordance with AS9100, challenging conventional approaches to improve efficiency.
• Plan, schedule, and conduct internal audits across all sites and coordinate external regulatory inspections.
• Oversee document control processes and drive continuous improvement of QMS procedures.
• Conduct AS9100-style supplier audits and provide recommendations for supplier qualification.
• Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and EAR regulatory requirements.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program Management to integrate quality considerations into operational processes.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in aerospace quality, compliance, or audit roles.
• Direct experience with AS9100 standards and AS9100 Lead Auditor certification.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or otherwise eligible for ITAR-restricted information access.
• Demonstrated experience conducting internal and external audits.
• Ability to travel up to 30% and work extended hours or weekends as needed.
• Ability to lift more than 50lbs.

Nice to have

• ASQ certification (CQA, CQE, or CQM).
• NADCAP auditor certification or experience with NADCAP processes.
• Experience with defense contractor compliance (FAR, DFARS, ITAR).
• Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 13485, or customer-specific requirements (DoD, NASA).
