TL;DR
Cost Optimization Analyst (FinOps): Driving financial accountability and cloud resource optimization for public and private cloud environments with an accent on cost transparency and business value. Focus on developing forecasting models, delivering cost utilization metrics, and implementing cost-saving measures across hybrid cloud workloads.
Location: Must be based on-site in San Diego, CA (Hybrid arrangement available up to 2 days per week)
Salary: $89,250–$133,875

What you will do
- Manage hybrid cloud spend across private and public cloud lifecycles and workload management.
- Utilize Flexera to monitor cloud costs and ensure data accuracy at billing and workload levels.
- Provide data-driven optimization recommendations to enable workload teams to implement cost-saving measures.
- Develop forecasting models and deliver monthly reporting dashboards for cost, utilization, and performance.
- Lead stakeholder sessions, including onboarding cost managers and aligning with the Cloud Cost Management Community.
- Organize knowledge-sharing initiatives to address gaps in cloud financial expertise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Management, Data Analytics, Science, Accounting, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in FinOps with a focus on Cloud Financial management.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure/GCP).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analytics tools (SQL, Python, PowerShell).
- Deep technical knowledge of cloud pricing models and commitment management.
- Willingness to work in a clean room environment (wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, etc.).
Nice to have
- Experience with Flexera cost monitoring tool.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
