What you will do

• Lead and manage a small team of accounting professionals to ensure departmental efficiency and growth.
• Direct daily accounting operations including cash management, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements and comprehensive reports.
• Identify and implement process improvements by leveraging technology and AI tools to automate routine tasks.
• Maintain compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Act as the primary liaison between the CFO and the Accounting Department to align financial strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration (CPA is a plus).
• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the engineering or laboratory industry.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams within accounting departments.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAGE 300 ERP, Deltek Vantagepoint) and advanced Excel.
• Must be able to work onsite in the Charleston, SC office.
