Senior Software Engineer (Java & Python)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Java & Python): Designing and implementing new features and systems integrations with an accent on high-performance backend services and scientific domain integration. Location: Hybrid: Must be based in South San Francisco (SSF) and work on-site three days per week. Overlap with Pacific Time working hours is required.

What you will do

• Collaborate with the technical team to design, develop, and implement new features and systems integrations.
• Write efficient, reusable, and reliable code to ensure high application performance and responsiveness.
• Participate in the testing and deployment of new product releases to maintain quality standards.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve system issues as they arise.
• Partner with cross-functional teams and scientific stakeholders to identify and address technical challenges.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience with Java and Python for backend development.
• Proficiency with Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for deployment.
• Solid experience with SQL for database management and Git-based version control systems.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with stakeholders in chemistry or related scientific domains to inform technical strategy.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in South San Francisco (SSF).

Nice to have

• Experience working with AWS environments.
• Experience with automation systems or software used in chemical synthesis workflows.
• Familiarity with TypeScript and front-end development.
• Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment.
