Senior Software Engineer, Analytics Platform (AI)

Location: Ireland; hybrid schedules, work-from-home flexibility, and onsite collaboration available at the Galway office

What you will do

• Design and ship highly available, fault-tolerant services for analytics ingestion, processing, storage, querying, and delivery.
• Engineer the full data lifecycle, including streaming ingestion, structured and unstructured storage, search, and aggregation.
• Deploy, automate, operate, and troubleshoot large AWS environments with a focus on reliability, performance, and efficiency.
• Partner with engineering, product, and data teams to turn ambiguous concepts and requirements into production-ready tools and services.
• Review code, mentor peers, share engineering practices, and address platform issues before they become production incidents.
• Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, and improve platform reliability through automation, testing, observability, and AI-assisted workflows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant industry experience building and operating scalable, production-grade software systems.
• Strong Java development experience with Spring and Spring Boot for distributed, cloud-native applications and services.
• Experience building and supporting Apache Kafka data-streaming solutions and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Druid and/or Apache Flink for large-scale analytics, stream processing, or time-series platforms.
• Practical cloud experience, ideally with AWS, including deployment, operations, and troubleshooting.
• Experience designing and operating highly available distributed systems, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and data teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure.
