What you will do

• Administer and maintain production database platforms across multiple environments to ensure stability and performance.
• Ensure databases remain secure, resilient, and highly available through robust backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Optimize SQL queries and indexing strategies to improve overall application responsiveness.
• Collaborate with development teams to review database changes throughout the software lifecycle.
• Perform system health monitoring, capacity planning, and root cause analysis for incidents.
• Produce technical documentation and establish operational standards for the data environment.

Requirements

• Professional experience administering MySQL or MariaDB production environments.
• Strong expertise in SQL optimization, query analysis, and indexing.
• Proven track record with high availability, replication, and disaster recovery planning.
• Experience with schema design and relational data modeling for business-critical SaaS applications.
• Experience working within Agile software delivery teams.
• Exposure to backend development technologies such as PHP.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL administration.
• Experience with data warehousing or analytical databases.
• Knowledge of advanced scaling techniques such as partitioning, sharding, or proxying.
