TL;DR
Engineering Leader (Platform): Leading the platform engineering organization across infrastructure, data, developer experience, and AI tooling with an accent on strategic architectural trade-offs and manager development. Focus on building paved roads for internal engineers, driving AI-native development practices, and ensuring system reliability at scale.
Location: Remote (Global), as long as you are willing to have significant hours overlap with one of the Americas time zones.
Salary: $204,000 – $280,000 (USD) for US-based candidates

What you will do
- Own the Platform organization's company-level objectives and technical roadmap, balancing infrastructure, data, DevEx, and AI tooling.
- Manage and coach engineering managers, driving them from baseline performance to excellence through clear feedback and growth plans.
- Define build-vs-buy strategies and make high-level architecture trade-offs to optimize how the engineering org ships code.
- Establish "paved roads" and golden paths to increase developer productivity and earned adoption.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Security, and Ops to align platform capabilities with company priorities.
- Take accountability for SLAs, SLOs, and incident response across the platform surface.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience managing managers (direct reports must be people managers).
- 10+ years of total experience in technical roles with a strong history as an individual contributor.
- Proven track record of owning and delivering measurable outcomes in platform, infrastructure, or data productivity areas.
- Experience building and evolving platform engineering practices across multiple teams.
- Excellent written communication skills for articulating strategy and trade-offs.
- Daily usage of LLM-based tools and a drive to push teams toward AI-native workflows.

- Experience running infrastructure or AI platforms at meaningful scale.
- Experience leading remote-first, distributed engineering teams.
- Proven success in building internal developer platforms (IDPs) that were genuinely adopted.
- An existing network of high-quality platform and infrastructure engineering talent.
