What you will do

• Triage daily surveillance alerts to detect spoofing, layering, wash trading, and front-running.
• Conduct end-to-end investigations using SQL, Python, and internal tools to analyze order book data and trade history.
• Produce detailed case summaries and maintain records according to CFTC Core Principle 2.
• Collaborate with senior staff to calibrate automated surveillance thresholds and improve signal quality.
• Assist in preparing documentation and reports for CFTC examinations and regulatory audits.

Requirements

• 0 to 3 years of experience in trade surveillance, market regulation, or financial compliance.
• Strong understanding of futures and options markets and exchange trading mechanics.
• Familiarity with CFTC regulations and DCM Core Principles.
• Proficiency in Excel and structured data analysis.
• Excellent written communication skills for regulatory-grade documentation.
• Location: Must be based in New York for on-site work

Nice to have

• Experience with automated surveillance platforms such as Nasdaq Surveillance or Validus.
• Practical use of SQL or Python in a trading or compliance context.
• Previous experience in a regulated financial environment such as an exchange or FCM.
