What you will do
- Define and govern the unified Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) across all engineering tribes.
- Lead and mentor Engineering Managers, overseeing performance, hiring, and professional growth.
- Ensure predictable delivery of committed scope and dates across the entire engineering function.
- Manage backend change governance, ensuring audit-readiness and regulatory compliance for all deployments.
- Drive the adoption of AI-first engineering standards, including coding assistants and automated testing.
- Own the function-level tech-debt roadmap and facilitate incident response and post-mortem processes.
Requirements
- 8+ years in software engineering with at least 3–4 years in a leadership role managing multiple teams or squads.
- Proven track record of owning delivery predictability at a function level without estimate-padding.
- Deep experience in regulated environments (fintech, banking, or payments) with an understanding of high-stakes quality and security requirements.
- Strong hands-on experience with SDLC definition, change management, and engineering metrics.
- Evidence-based approach to AI-assisted development and its practical application in the SDLC.
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Background in crypto, Bitcoin, or blockchain-adjacent engineering.
- Experience with Team Topologies organizational models.
- Familiarity with observability tooling like Datadog or Coralogix.
- Experience in mobile-first organizations.
