What you will do

• Support the design of new trackers for surgical navigation software.
• Study and evaluate existing Computer Vision marker designs, such as ArUco Markers.
• Execute parameter studies to evaluate the impact of design choices.
• Collect data and train detection models based on new marker designs.
• Develop and maintain scripts and tools using Python to conduct accuracy tests.
• Collaborate with software engineers, robotics experts, and clinical stakeholders in an agile Scrum environment.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Master’s program in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
• Programming skills in Python, PyTorch, and OpenCV.
• Deep understanding of computer vision algorithms, deep learning, and image processing.
• Experience training and validating deep Neural Networks.
• English: Good communication skills required.

Nice to have

• Experience with popular object detection models such as YOLO.
• Experience with graphics simulation tools like Unity.
• Good understanding of 3D Geometry.
• Knowledge of the German language.
