Flight Software Manager (Embedded Systems)

Base pay for Washington applicants: $161,567–$226,193 annually. Other site ranges may differ.

hirify.global develops reusable space vehicles and systems, including Blue Moon lunar landers and infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo to the Moon.

What you will do

• Manage software engineers developing safety-critical, high-performance flight software for lunar vehicles.
• Coordinate with software and hardware subsystem stakeholders to support mission success.
• Guide technical decisions and communicate the rationale behind software team direction.
• Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to direct-report developers.
• Collaborate directly with NASA and National Team Partners through the Human Landing System Sustaining Lunar Development program.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, aeronautics, or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s/PhD with 8+ years.
• 5+ years of experience in spaceflight or another safety-critical industry.
• 5+ years of embedded systems software engineering experience.
• Experience with Jama or a similar requirements management tool and Jira or a similar activity management tool.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills and the ability to build professional relationships.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.

Nice to have

• Experience with NPR 7150, DO-178, or similar standards.
• Experience with agile methodology.
• Experience with C, C++, or Rust.
• Experience with orbital vehicles or in-space systems.
