Flight Software Manager (Embedded): Managing the development of safety-critical flight software for Blue Moon lunar landers with an accent on system performance, safety standards, and stakeholder alignment. Location: Must be based in the Greater Seattle Area. Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee.
Salary: $161,567 – $226,193

What you will do
- Manage a team of software engineers within the Lunar Permanence business unit for the Blue Moon landers.
- Ensure the success of safety-critical and performant flight software for lunar vehicles.
- Collaborate with subsystem stakeholders, NASA, and National Team Partners within the HLS SLD program.
- Guide the software team's technical decisions and provide rationale to stakeholders.
- Coach, mentor, and provide performance feedback to reporting developers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical/computer engineering, aeronautics, or related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience (8+ with Master's or PhD).
- 5+ years of experience in spaceflight or other safety-critical industries.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems software engineering.
- Proficiency in Jama and Jira (or similar requirements and activity management tools).
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee.
Nice to have
- Experience with NPR 7150, DO-178, or similar safety standards.
- Proficiency in C, C++, or Rust.
- Experience with orbital vehicles or in-space systems.
- Experience with agile methodology.
