What you will do
- Build backend services powering end-to-end claims automation workflows.
- Design and implement logic for claims submission, validation, assessment, approval, and payout processes.
- Integrate with internal workflow engines, insurer systems, and external data sources.
- Manage complex rules for eligibility, documentation, and fraud checks.
- Optimize APIs, data models, and asynchronous processing using queues and retries.
- Ensure data accuracy, traceability, and system scalability under high operational load.
Requirements
- Experience building production-grade backend systems.
- Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and backend architecture.
- Ability to design and implement complex workflow or state-based systems.
- Experience with transactional, data-sensitive, or operational systems.
- Proficiency with queues, async processing, or event-driven architectures.
- Must be based in China.
Nice to have
- Experience in claims systems, insurance platforms, or fintech products.
- Knowledge of Node.js, Python, Java, or similar backend technologies.
- Experience with messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
- Familiarity with observability tools and cloud CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in regulated industries such as insurance or healthcare.
