What you will do

• Develop and verify safety-critical embedded software for the Battery Management System (BMS) in compliance with DO-178C.
• Create low-level drivers and battery controls for microcontrollers interfacing with analog and digital circuitry.
• Implement fault detection and diagnostic algorithms to handle insulation breakdown, short circuits, and sensor failures.
• Apply DSP and filtering techniques to sensor data to improve state estimation and protection functions.
• Perform initial board bring-up and debug new BMS hardware designs using schematics.
• Define and document streamlined software development and verification processes for safety certification.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development and the full SDLC.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Familiarity with safety standards such as DO-178C, ISO 26262, or ASIL (DAL-A/B).
• Experience with low-level protocols including CAN, SPI, I2C, RS-422/485, ARINC-429, and Ethernet.
• Knowledge of high-voltage battery sensor technologies (current, voltage, and temperature measurement).
• Must be based in the US and not require visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and DO-331 modeling certification.
• Familiarity with UML or SysML.
• Working knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Experience with HW-in-the-Loop (HIL), SW-in-the-Loop (SIL), or MIL.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power supplies.
