TL;DR

Principal Software Engineer (SaaS): Defining and evolving the long-term technical roadmap for a future-readiness platform with an accent on architecture, system scalability, and AI integration. Focus on establishing technical guardrails, reducing technical debt, and mentoring senior engineering talent to ensure high-quality, performant software delivery.

Location: Must be based in Canada and available to work in Eastern Time Zone hours.

Salary: $180,000 - $220,000 CAD

What you will do

  • Define and evolve the long-term technical roadmap aligned with business strategy.
  • Set technical direction for scalable, secure, and maintainable system architecture.
  • Partner with engineering leaders to integrate AI into the development lifecycle.
  • Identify and prioritize technical debt while balancing long-term system health.
  • Champion CI/CD processes and strengthen quality strategies in collaboration with DevOps and QA.
  • Mentor senior technical talent and play an instrumental role in the hiring strategy.

Requirements

  • Must be based in Canada and available for Eastern Time Zone hours.
  • 15+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years at the staff or principal level.
  • Deep expertise in C#/.NET, TypeScript, Angular, SQL, Redis, and Azure.
  • Proven experience applying AI to engineering workflows with sound judgment on trade-offs.
  • Strong track record in high-growth SaaS environments.
  • Excellent conflict management and ability to drive evidence-based decisions.
