Principal Engineer (SaaS)

Principal Engineer (SaaS): Designing and leading modernization efforts for inherited systems with an accent on cloud-native architecture, SaaS integration, and low-code/no-code platforms. Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Englewood Cliffs, NJ (Hybrid: 3 days/week in office)

Salary: $170,000 - $200,000

What you will do

• Design and lead modernization efforts for legacy systems to improve scalability and business value.
• Evaluate and implement SaaS, low-code/no-code, and Gen AI tools to accelerate delivery.
• Collaborate with business, product, and technology leaders to align technical solutions with strategy.
• Set the technical vision and standards for the engineering organization.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous learning.
• Drive alignment across cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, performant system delivery.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.
• Proven experience in cloud-native architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP), serverless, and event-driven design.
• Strong understanding of SaaS platforms, low-code/no-code, and Gen AI tools.
• Demonstrated ability to lead engineering efforts and influence cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with full-stack development (backend, frontend, Cloud, Infrastructure).
• Familiarity with distributed messaging (Kafka, Kinesis) and caching (Redis, ElastiCache).
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to startup environments or fast-paced product development cycles.
• Experience in media, entertainment, or digital platforms.
