Cloud Security Engineer

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy automated cloud security controls and guardrails using Terraform, Python, and cloud-native services.
• Assess multi-cloud environments for security risks and misconfigurations, then create scalable remediation solutions.
• Develop event-driven automation and security data pipelines using cloud telemetry and tools such as Wiz.
• Support cloud incident response through investigation, containment, remediation, and long-term detection improvements.
• Collaborate with security and engineering teams to integrate security capabilities into cloud environments.

Requirements

• Degree in Information Systems, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience designing secure cloud solutions on at least one hyperscale cloud provider and operating across multi-cloud environments.
• Experience with Terraform, Python or another scripting language, CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab, and API integrations.
• Knowledge of cloud security principles including identity and access management, logging, and cloud-native security services.
• Experience assessing cloud risks and misconfigurations and translating findings into practical, scalable controls.
• Work location: Durham, North Carolina, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure, GCP, or OCI.
• Experience building event-driven automation or security data pipelines.
• Familiarity with Wiz and cloud security posture management.
• Cloud incident response experience or relevant security certifications.
• Knowledge of SOC 2, PCI-DSS, NIST, or ISO 27001.
