What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions in MS SQL Server.
• Analyze and optimize SQL performance using query tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis.
• Investigate and resolve production data issues and discrepancies to ensure system integrity.
• Support and enhance data pipelines and ETL processes, including data ingestion and transformation.
• Collaborate with data, product, and engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and maintain documentation for data workflows under SLA-driven deadlines.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in SQL development.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including joins, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions.
• Proven experience in performance tuning and query optimization.
• Experience working with data pipelines and ETL processes (e.g., SSIS).
• Must be based in Costa Rica.
• Advanced English proficiency for collaboration with global teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in data-intensive or SLA-driven environments.
• Exposure to data warehousing concepts.
• Basic knowledge of Python or other scripting languages.
• Experience in healthcare, clinical, or regulated environments.
