What you will do

• Build and maintain integrations with industry-standard energy protocols including OpenADR and IEEE 2030.5.
• Develop and maintain client-facing REST APIs and backend logic.
• Integrate distributed internal services to abstract complexity and enable new product capabilities.
• Ensure robust security, data protection, and monitoring policies are implemented.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve software quality and requirements.
• Update utility-facing web portals to support new integrations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the US (no sponsorship available).
• Experience with Java and the Spring ecosystem.
• Expertise in RESTful web APIs and relational database fundamentals (PostgreSQL).
• Knowledge of modern security best practices and system hardening.
• Familiarity with development best practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and monitoring.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS or other cloud providers.
• Knowledge of microservice architectures and event-driven messaging.
• Experience with React and web technologies.
• Familiarity with gRPC, protocol buffers, and containerized systems.
