What you will do

• Build, test, and document dbt models in BigQuery across staging, intermediate, and mart layers.
• Partner with BI and Data Platform teams to transform business requirements into reusable data assets.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to resolve data quality issues at the source.
• Optimize warehouse performance, reduce complexity, and manage BigQuery costs.
• Contribute to data governance, documentation, and the exploration of AI tooling for data platforms.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on dbt Core experience in a production environment.
• Proficiency in SQL and modern data warehouse concepts like dimensional modeling.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses and writing efficient, performant queries.
• Strong understanding of the distinction between transactional and analytical systems.
• Comfortable with git-based workflows, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Proactive ownership of data quality and interest in AI applications for data products.

Nice to have

• Experience with dbt Cloud, BigQuery orchestration, and warehouse optimization.
• Familiarity with Tableau or supporting BI tool users.
• Experience building semantic layers for LLM and AI applications.
• Knowledge of CDC pipelines or event-driven architectures.
• Python skills for data transformation or automation.
