What you will do
- Build, test, and document dbt models in BigQuery across staging, intermediate, and mart layers.
- Partner with BI and Data Platform teams to transform business requirements into reusable data assets.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to resolve data quality issues at the source.
- Optimize warehouse performance, reduce complexity, and manage BigQuery costs.
- Contribute to data governance, documentation, and the exploration of AI tooling for data platforms.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on dbt Core experience in a production environment.
- Proficiency in SQL and modern data warehouse concepts like dimensional modeling.
- Experience with cloud data warehouses and writing efficient, performant queries.
- Strong understanding of the distinction between transactional and analytical systems.
- Comfortable with git-based workflows, pull requests, and code reviews.
- Proactive ownership of data quality and interest in AI applications for data products.
Nice to have
- Experience with dbt Cloud, BigQuery orchestration, and warehouse optimization.
- Familiarity with Tableau or supporting BI tool users.
- Experience building semantic layers for LLM and AI applications.
- Knowledge of CDC pipelines or event-driven architectures.
- Python skills for data transformation or automation.

Hiring process

- 45-minute virtual interview with the Hiring Manager.
