Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Manchester, UK for hybrid work (2 days per week in office)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across batch and streaming sources.
• Transform raw application and enterprise data into structured, high-quality data products.
• Collaborate with analytical engineers and stakeholders to ensure data readiness for reporting and AI.
• Improve pipeline reliability, observability, and cost-efficiency using modern engineering practices.
• Implement automated testing, documentation, and data quality checks.
• Apply CI/CD and version control standards to ensure maintainable and robust data infrastructure.

Requirements

• Must be able to work from the Manchester office 2 days per week.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data transformation and pipeline development.
• Experience building production data pipelines in cloud or lakehouse environments.
• Familiarity with platforms such as Databricks, Delta Lake, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
• Understanding of software engineering practices including Git, testing, and CI/CD.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spark, Delta Live Tables, or medallion-style architecture.
• Exposure to real-time streaming technologies and event-driven architecture.
• Experience preparing data for machine learning, vector indexing, or generative AI applications.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude.
