Field Service Engineer

TL;DR

Field Service Engineer (Medical Devices): Deliver routine servicing, testing, and repairs of hirify.global equipment in hospitals and facilities across the South East UK with an accent on electrical/mechanical fault finding, calibration, and maintaining accurate service documentation. Focus on managing a continuously changing field workload independently while ensuring compliance with quality system duties and on-site Health & Safety requirements.

Location: Field-based, South East UK including London (ideal candidate based within/around London)

What you will do

• Carry out routine testing and mechanical servicing of hirify.global equipment to relevant standards.
• Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding and problem solving in the field.
• Calibrate equipment when necessary and report faulty or out-of-calibration equipment.
• Maintain spare parts stock levels and respond to call-outs in a timely manner.
• Produce quality service documentation and accurate written/electronic reports, including validation reports within specified time frames.
• Provide service-related sales leads and maintain regular communication with internal service and technical departments.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering (or sufficient equivalent experience).
• Experience of field-based work and managing your own workload independently.
• IT skills including Microsoft Office; experience using CRM systems such as GForce.
• Willingness to travel and work away from home where necessary (up to 80% travel required).
• Strong organisational skills, positive team attitude, and excellent customer communication.
• Ability to follow returns and non-conformance report procedures and comply with Quality System and on-site Health & Safety requirements.
