Location: Must be based in or able to commute to the Santurce, PR office for a hybrid schedule (Tuesday-Thursday in-office, remote Mondays and Fridays).

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and optimize batch ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and SQL in Databricks.
• Develop analytics-ready data models to support reporting, dashboards, and business insights.
• Partner with analytics, product, and platform teams to align data definitions and deliver scalable solutions.
• Implement data quality checks, validation logic, and observability practices.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code resources using Terraform and configure Databricks environments.
• Collaborate on data governance, identity management, and CI/CD engineering standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional data engineering experience in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, and AWS cloud platforms.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python or Scala.
• Experience with data modeling for analytics and semantic-layer support.
• Working knowledge of Terraform and CI/CD workflows.
• Must be able to work from the Santurce, PR office on a hybrid schedule.

Nice to have

• Experience with BI tools like Tableau or Looker.
• Familiarity with Delta Lake and dbt.
• Background in content-driven or digital platform data.
• Experience with privacy-safe data sharing patterns.
