Intern - Development Engineer Support (preferably belonging to protected categories - art. 1 Law 68)

Location: R&D site in Bologna (Casalecchio Isonzo), Italy, with a hybrid working model combining office and home working.

What you will do

• Support the design finalization and hands-on manufacturing of mechanical samples, including 3D printing and machining.
• Help develop, refine, and validate jigs and test equipment, including verification testing.
• Support advanced product and component measurements, including 3D scanning, and coordinate with external laboratories and suppliers.
• Contribute to manufacturing and refurbishment process improvements by selecting suitable tools, equipment, and methods.
• Standardize test and measurement processes and prepare technical documentation for mechanical and hydraulic developments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners while organizing activities, monitoring progress, and supporting continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical-focused secondary studies.
• Good understanding of 2D mechanical drawings; familiarity with 3D modeling is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to create clear, structured reports.
• Hands-on experience or interest in additive manufacturing, machining tools, prototyping, and product development.
• Basic knowledge of metrology and measurement techniques, with strong manual skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English, along with a collaborative, proactive, and curious approach.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with 3D modeling.
• Membership in a protected category under art. 1 of Law 68/99 is particularly welcomed.
