What you will do

• Deploy machine learning and data-science solutions to improve shopping experience and maximize reach and discovery for pet parents.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to evolve models for selection, ranking, relevance, deal/offering optimization, click-through prediction, and dynamic bidding/auction algorithms.
• Lead new model development from ideation and experimentation to production delivery.
• Publish research papers in ML/AI/advertising conferences focused on scalable modeling.
• Set high standards for model performance, establish applied-science implementation best practices, and mentor junior scientists.
• Translate complex datasets and research into clear business recommendations for senior leadership and technical/non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience working in machine learning.
• Advanced degree (M.S., PhD, or equivalent) in Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience designing optimization and machine learning solutions for large-scale applications (at least 3 years).
• Experience building distributed pipelines for training, tuning, optimizing, and evaluation.
• Experience with predictive models (time series and regression), linear programming, and classification, plus search/ranking or large-scale embeddings.
• Experience with sponsored ads/advertising domain.

Nice to have

• Experience in e-commerce or retail.
• Prior experience with advertising systems.
• Experience with ML services in AWS (SageMaker, Personalize) or equivalent.
