What you will do

• Design and maintain plant-level control logic for solar PV and BESS facilities.
• Develop control strategies for active/reactive power, frequency response, and voltage regulation.
• Perform dynamic controller modeling and validation using PSS/E and PSCAD/EMTDC.
• Lead factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) for control systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams, OEMs, and EPCs to resolve technical issues and ensure project compliance.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less-experienced engineering staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering.
• 5+ years of controls engineering experience in utility-scale solar or BESS.
• Proficiency in IEC-61131-3 logic development (Codesys, Beckhoff, etc.).
• Working knowledge of PSS/E or PSCAD for controller modeling.
• Experience with communication protocols including Modbus, DNP3, and IEC 61850.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• HIL testing experience (RTDS, OPAL-RT).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Familiarity with OT/ICS cybersecurity frameworks.
• Experience with Emerson Ovation or ABB Ability platforms.
