Senior Manager Architecture - Borders Portfolio Architect (AI/Azure)

Location: Barcelona, Spain; hybrid work with work from home up to 2 days per week depending on team needs. Flex Location allows working from any location in the world for up to 30 days per year.

What you will do

• Define and lead portfolio-level technical strategy with the CTO for products supporting planning and operational management.
• Drive the integration of AI, predictive analytics, machine learning, and data-driven decision support across the portfolio.
• Develop technical documentation covering product and service interactions, data flows, and airport operations requirements.
• Represent key design decisions at the Software Design Authority and influence product-level architecture and technical debt management.
• Assess portfolio changes and contribute to technical evaluations for mergers and acquisitions.
• Lead threat modelling and security workbooks while coordinating with security architects and compliance stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience architecting cloud-based solutions, preferably with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with container-based architectures; Kubernetes knowledge is advantageous.
• Expertise in analytics, machine learning, predictive models, time-series forecasting, and optimisation techniques.
• Experience designing modern data platforms, including data lakes, lakehouse architectures, streaming pipelines, and large-scale structured and unstructured data solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills within airport, airline, product, business, and technical delivery environments.
• Ability to work in the Barcelona hybrid setup, with home working up to 2 days per week.

Nice to have

• Broad understanding of airport business capabilities.
• Knowledge of border-management solutions, including passenger processing, biometrics, identity management, and risk-based screening.
