Cost Consultant (Construction)

Location: Remote (Canada), with mandatory travel to client sites 1-2 days per week within the Newfoundland and Labrador region

Salary: $65,000 - $90,000

What you will do

• Prepare conceptual and detailed cost estimates and complete quantity take-offs.
• Conduct site visits to review contractor progress claims and assess change orders.
• Collaborate with senior consultants, contractors, lenders, and clients to support budgeting and cost validation.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting across the Atlantic region.
• Contribute to project delivery by conducting market research and pricing validation.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Architectural Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Building Science, or a related discipline.
• Professional experience in estimating, quantity surveying, or construction cost management.
• Must be based in or able to travel to client sites in the Newfoundland and Labrador region.
• Strong understanding of construction principles, drawings, and specifications.
• Proficiency in analyzing contracts and project documentation under tight deadlines.

Nice to have

• PQS or CEC designation with CIQS (or actively working toward it).
• Experience with CostX, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.
