TL;DR
Head of Advice (Finance/Superannuation): Leading Mercer Super’s advice proposition and strategy to deliver meaningful value to members with an accent on adviser and member service experience and advice delivery. Focus on optimizing intrafund advice provision, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing high-level stakeholder relationships.
Location: Hybrid in Sydney, Australia (at least three days a week in the office). Candidates must have appropriate approval to work in Australia.

What you will do
- Lead the development and annual review of the advice strategy aligned with Mercer Super’s objectives.
- Oversee and optimize intrafund advice provision and the overall adviser service experience.
- Drive initiatives to support member confidence, retention, and growth through improved advice services.
- Manage supplier relationships, service levels, reporting, risks, and controls for advice functions.
- Ensure risk and control frameworks strictly comply with regulations.
- Represent Mercer Super at external conferences and events to promote the advice proposition.
Requirements
- Mandatory RG146 compliance.
- Undergraduate qualification (essential).
- At least 10 years of relevant industry experience, including managing intrafund advice businesses and teams.
- Experience managing external financial advisers, licensees, and representation on Approved Product Lists (APLs).
- Deep knowledge of super fund operations, retention, and growth drivers.
- Experience in senior stakeholder management with Executives, Boards, and regulators.

- Postgraduate or professional qualification.
- Deep domain knowledge of the retail advice market.
- Experience in cross-functional project delivery within superannuation.
- Strong commercial and analytical acumen with strategic thinking skills.
