What you will do

• Conduct daily operational checks and preventative maintenance on Core Network elements and infrastructure.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair network hardware to minimize Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
• Collaborate with engineering and technical support teams to coordinate installations, upgrades, and commissioning.
• Administer system applications across multiple vendor platforms, managing support tickets and vendor relations.
• Execute software, firmware, and hardware upgrades following established change management protocols.
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor to junior technicians through hands-on training.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Fairbanks, AK.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a telecommunication central office or related environment.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a satisfactory driving record are required.
• Advanced knowledge of T-Carrier, SONET, DWDM, CWDM, and PON systems.
• Strong understanding of IP networking (address planning, subnetting) and fiber optic safety standards.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in electronics or telecommunications.
• Telecom industry or job-specific certifications.
• Experience working with Ciena and Nokia equipment.
