What you will do

• Provide technical support in processing and interpreting geospatial observations and modeling data.
• Develop and implement workflows for large volumes of hazard prediction data using GDAL, PostgreSQL, Python, and Spark.
• Analyze raster and vector data at scale to improve model accuracy and identify quality control issues.
• Perform statistical analysis to validate hazard model predictions and assess uncertainties.
• Design and implement quality assurance checks on climate risk data and derived statistics.
• Resolve customer support issues through quality control checks and model explanations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Climate Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for analyzing complex datasets.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and open-source GIS tools for geospatial data processing.
• Strong understanding of probability and statistics as applied to spatial data.
• Must be based in or able to work from the New York City office on a hybrid schedule.

Nice to have

• Experience with DBT and Spark.
• Master's Degree.
• Previous experience in the physical sciences.
