What you will do

  • Develop and own the Japan Play Pass marketing strategy to drive subscriber acquisition and retention.
  • Execute go-to-market campaigns for new games and build awareness across digital and social channels in Japan.
  • Lead the performance marketing function, optimizing paid search, social, and programmatic campaigns for ROI.
  • Select, contract, and manage a Japanese marketing agency for content and subscription services.
  • Plan and execute games-focused events, such as the Tokyo Game Show, and manage local gaming communities.
  • Co-own the unified Japan brand strategy and represent the Japanese market in global publishing discussions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of marketing experience, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role within the Japanese consumer market.
  • Proven track record in subscription marketing and hands-on performance marketing.
  • Native or near-native Japanese proficiency (C2).
  • Strong English proficiency for collaboration with US-based publishing teams.
  • Experience selecting and managing marketing agencies in Japan end-to-end.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

Nice to have

  • Background in games marketing, title launches, and live operations.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools like Google Analytics, Adjust, or AppsFlyer.
  • Knowledge of children’s advertising regulations and data privacy standards in Japan.
  • Experience bridging communication across US and Japan time zones.
