Systems Engineer, Production (AWS): Designing and maintaining AWS infrastructure for a global legal AI platform with an accent on automation, observability, and reliability. Focus on implementing Infrastructure-as-Code via Terraform, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and developing agentic patterns for cloud infrastructure.
Location: Must be based in Canada. Hybrid work (min. 2 days/week) is expected for those local to Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto hubs.
Salary: $116,500 β $157,500 CAD

What you will do
- Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure supporting production environments.
- Implement and evolve Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform to ensure reproducibility and compliance.
- Collaborate with developers to improve CI/CD pipelines and overall developer experience.
- Enhance observability and reliability by refining alerting, monitoring, and incident response.
- Partner with Security and MLOps teams to deliver scalable and resilient systems.
- Define agentic patterns to evolve how cloud infrastructure is built and observed.
Requirements
- Experience deploying and operating AWS managed services (RDS, EKS, Lambda) at scale.
- Expertise with Terraform and infrastructure automation.
- Strong coding foundation for designing robust automation frameworks and tooling.
- Experience with container orchestration and CI/CD systems (e.g., Buildkite, GitHub Actions).
- Proficiency in Linux systems administration, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Must be based in Canada.
Nice to have
- Production experience with Kubernetes (EKS) on AWS.
- Experience leveraging AI to accelerate code generation and infrastructure debugging.
- Prior experience in platform engineering or developer productivity teams.
- Hands-on experience managing and scaling distributed data stores like MySQL/Aurora.
