TL;DR

Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Canada (10+ days per month in-office)

Salary: $172,000 — $210,000 USD

What you will do

  • Build platform features for compute, authentication, service discovery, and observability.
  • Lead architectural decisions balancing scale, cost, and maintenance.
  • Deploy and maintain multi-region, multi-provider service platforms with an emphasis on security and resiliency.
  • Develop automation tools for monitoring and instrumentation to increase engineering efficiency.
  • Create and automate platform and application lifecycle services to converge on declared states.
  • Coach junior engineers on design, development, testing, and deployment standards.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience with Go, Python, or Java.
  • Strong command of software engineering best practices and system design.
  • Experience with AWS and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or Rancher.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience scaling Observability platforms leveraging Prometheus and OpenTelemetry.
  • Must be based in Toronto or able to work from the office 10+ days a month.
