Salary: $117,800 - $200,300 per year

What you will do
- Drive the full design process from requirements and feasibility studies to detailed design and manufacturing release.
- Generate detailed 3D models and drawings using Creo.
- Conduct thermal, fluid, and vibrational analysis through hand calculations and FEA modeling.
- Manage suppliers to ensure all design specifications are met.
- Lead design reviews, procure prototype materials, and support system integration and testing.
- Develop assembly and test procedures and create necessary technical documentation.
Requirements
- Education/Experience: Bachelor's with 3+ years, Master's with 2+ years, or a Doctorate.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in 3D solid modeling.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in FEA and GD&T.
- Strong background in mechanism design and a basic understanding of optical subsystems.
- Familiarity with machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and castings.
- Must be based in or able to work onsite in Milpitas, CA.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in Creo, Creo Simulate, ANSYS, or CF Design.
- Experience with ultra-high vacuum systems or motion controls.
- Background in design of inspection equipment or similar scientific instruments.
- Experience in new product introduction (NPI).
