What you will do

• Stand up and manage middleware on AWS, including EC2 and containerized deployments via ECS/Fargate.
• Build and maintain integrations with Oracle databases and third-party systems (including payment/billing and external healthcare platforms).
• Develop and support FHIR-based, HIPAA-compliant integrations, ensuring PHI is handled securely in transit and at rest.
• Deploy and promote middleware across dev/test/staging/production using controlled, repeatable release processes.
• Lead migration of existing LUA-based integrations, including analysis, refactoring, testing, and cutover.
• Monitor interface health, troubleshoot message failures, tune performance/reliability, and document specifications, mappings, and runbooks.

Requirements

• Hands-on production experience with Mirth Connect and Rhapsody.
• Scripting experience: JavaScript (Mirth transformers) and LUA (Rhapsody).
• Strong knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards: HL7 v2.x and FHIR (ideally CDA/CCD).
• Solid understanding of HIPAA requirements and secure handling of PHI.
• Experience with AWS services: EC2, ECS, and Fargate.
• Proficiency with SQL and Oracle databases (queries, stored procedures, connectivity).

Nice to have

• Experience integrating with third-party/payment systems via REST, SOAP, MLLP, and SFTP.
• CI/CD experience, Git, and multi-environment deployment practices.
• Experience migrating LUA-based logic.
• Containerization (Docker) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).
• Monitoring/observability tooling for interface engines.
• Prior work in regulated healthcare or fintech environments.
