Salary: $178,800 – $198,600 + bonus + benefits.

What you will do

• Own and maintain the gold data layer, transforming silver tables into clean, documented, and semantically rich datasets for AI research.
• Reverse-engineer complex data semantics by collaborating with product, clinical, and workflow experts.
• Design and build scalable Databricks/Spark pipelines to support AI model R&D, including EDA, training, and evaluation.
• Automate data quality, filtering, and synthetic data generation to support generative AI and classical ML workflows.
• Ensure reproducible dataset snapshots and maintain clear lineage for AI model development.
• Collaborate directly with AI researchers to understand data needs and optimize data-side bottlenecks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production data systems, with at least 2 years supporting ML/AI workloads.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark/Databricks.
• Deep expertise in the Databricks ecosystem (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, MLflow).
• Experience handling regulated or sensitive data (HIPAA or equivalent).
• Strong written documentation skills and ability to elicit requirements from technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with EHR data and clinical terminologies (ICD-10, SNOMED CT, HL7v2, FHIR).
• Experience with dbt, PyTorch, and clinical NLP or document parsing.
• Prior experience embedded within an AI/ML research team.
• Master’s degree in a quantitative field.
