System Engineer Intern (AI)

System Engineer Intern (AI): Contributing to the development of AI/ML Vision applications on NXP MCU platforms with an accent on middleware library development and hardware-software integration. Focus on training, converting, and quantizing ML models for deployment on low-power embedded devices.

Location: Must be based in Bucharest, Romania (Hybrid work policy available).

What you will do

• Contribute to the development of AI/ML Vision applications on i.MX RT and MCXN platforms.
• Develop hardware and software demos to showcase AI/ML capabilities on low-power devices.
• Develop and debug features in C for middleware libraries integrating cameras, GPU, NPU, and displays.
• Train, convert, and quantize machine learning models for microcontroller deployment.
• Collaborate within an international multi-site team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or graduating soon) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related discipline.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
• English proficiency (written and spoken) for international team collaboration.
• Familiarity with embedded hardware and microcontrollers.
• Academic knowledge of machine learning or artificial intelligence.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers.
• Knowledge of RTOS.
• Experience with model training.
