TL;DR

Senior Legal Counsel, EU Employment Law (Platform Workers) (Legal): Managing platform worker and rider classification risks globally with an accent on EU employment legislation and litigation strategy. Focus on interpreting the EU Platform Workers Directive and partnering with Product and Tech teams to develop next-generation delivery solutions.

Location: Oslo, Norway; Must be based in or be able to relocate to one of the company's markets in the EU

What you will do

  • Lead global management of platform worker and rider classification risks.
  • Manage high-profile litigation and regulatory investigations and develop defense strategies with local counsel.
  • Collaborate with Product, Tech, and Operations teams to align delivery operations and tech stacks with legal requirements.
  • Analyze legislative developments impacting platform work and provide guidance to Public Policy teams.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert for senior management and stakeholders across the Group.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified employment lawyer in an EU jurisdiction.
  • At least 6 years of experience in a law firm environment with a strong background in litigation.
  • Deep expertise in platform work and hands-on experience with the EU Platform Workers Directive.
  • Full professional proficiency in English.
  • Fluency in at least one additional European language.
  • Willingness to be based in or relocate to one of the company's EU markets.
