Senior Legal Counsel, EU Employment Law (Platform Workers)

Location: Oslo, Norway; willingness to be based in or relocate to one of the markets in the EU is required. Limited international travel of up to 10% may be expected.

What you will do

• Lead the management of platform-worker and rider classification risks globally with international employment lawyers across the Group.
• Manage high-profile litigation and regulatory investigations and develop defense strategies with local legal counsel.
• Partner with Product, Tech, and Operations teams on delivery operations, the tech stack, and next-generation delivery solutions.
• Support new business models and strategic opportunities related to platform work.
• Analyze legislative and regulatory developments and advise Public Policy teams at headquarters and market level.
• Provide subject-matter guidance to senior management and stakeholders across the Group.

Requirements

• Fully qualified employment lawyer in an EU jurisdiction.
• At least 6 years of employment-law experience in a law-firm environment, including a strong background in litigation.
• Deep expertise in platform work and worker classification, including hands-on experience interpreting and applying the EU Platform Workers Directive and related employment legislation.
• Strong legal judgment and influence, with experience advising senior stakeholders and collaborating across multi-jurisdictional and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and drafting skills, including legal drafting, executive-level communication, and clear, compelling slide presentations.
• Collaborative, impact-driven approach and experience working effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments and beyond defined role boundaries.
• Full professional proficiency in English and fluency in at least one additional European language.

• One to three years of prior in-house experience.
