CASS Oversight Manager (Fintech)

Location: London; hybrid from Berlin, London or Tallinn, or remote across Europe depending on the role. Remote work abroad is available for up to 183 days per year.

What you will do

• Own and continuously improve the CASS risk assessment, controls matrix, policies and procedures across CASS 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.
• Advise B2B clients, sales and client impact teams on solutions that support compliant investing for end users.
• Oversee daily client money calculations and internal and external reconciliations of client money and custody assets; investigate breaks, fund shortfalls and address root causes.
• Manage the CASS breach register, assess materiality, drive remediation, support FCA notifications, own monthly CMAR submissions and act as the primary contact for the annual CASS audit.
• Maintain the CASS Resolution Pack and ensure it remains complete, current and retrievable within regulatory timeframes.
• Partner with Product and Engineering on client asset impacts, system changes, ledgers, payment flows and custody integrations; produce CASS MI, deliver training and manage relationships with banks, custodians, auditors and industry forums.

Requirements

• Thorough working knowledge of CASS 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, including client money calculations, reconciliation methods, acknowledgement letters, Resolution Pack requirements and the SMCR context of SMF18.
• Several years of hands-on experience in a CASS operations, oversight or audit role at a broker, platform, custodian or wealth manager, including breach handling, CMAR reporting and CASS audits.
• Proven experience interpreting FCA rules and guidance and translating them into actionable operational procedures and controls.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering and product teams, external auditors, third-party custodians and banks.
• A highly organised, independent and proactive approach, with the ability to prioritise and perform under reporting and audit deadlines.

Nice to have

• Relevant industry certification such as the CISI Client Assets Specialist qualification, an accounting or audit background, or an equivalent professional certification in a related discipline.
