TL;DR
Data Analyst (SQL/Python): Turning Copilot telemetry, account signals, and usage data into insights that guide detection, policy, and enforcement decisions with an accent on abuse investigation and Trust & Safety analytics. Focus on building dashboards and prototype models (e.g., abuse-risk scoring, anomaly detection) while operationalizing reusable reporting and ensuring responsible handling of sensitive user-activity data.

What you will do
- Detect and investigate Copilot abuse by analyzing telemetry, usage logs, billing/entitlement data, and account signals.
- Build analyses and tooling for Trust & Safety decisions, including dashboards, reports, and prototype models such as abuse-risk scoring and anomaly detection.
- Synthesize complex findings into clear, actionable insights through written reports and stakeholder presentations.
- Improve data quality and coverage by identifying gaps in abuse-relevant data sources and recommending new pipelines or integrations.
- Evaluate analytical tradeoffs (false positives/negatives and unintended impact) and recommend mitigations.
- Operationalize successful investigations into reusable, self-service reporting and scale recurring abuse-monitoring capabilities.
Requirements
- Location: Must be based in Ontario, Canada
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business/financial analysis, or a relevant bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years of experience.
- Experience analyzing abuse, fraud, or Trust & Safety signals on a large-scale online platform (ideally involving AI/ML products).
- Strong familiarity with common abuse patterns on developer platforms (automated/scripted usage, credential sharing, token misuse, prompt injection, and policy violations).
- Experience partnering with Trust & Safety, Anti-Abuse, Security, and Legal teams on sensitive investigations.
