What you will do

• Design and execute test cases for laboratory systems based on functional specifications and user needs.
• Perform manual and automated testing to validate software functionality and data integrity.
• Collaborate with laboratory operations to translate end-to-end workflows into effective test scenarios.
• Identify, document, and track software defects while partnering with engineering to resolve issues.
• Support validation activities for system releases in accordance with CLIA, CAP, and internal quality standards.
• Ensure full traceability between requirements, test cases, and validation documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in software testing, QA, or validation in a regulated environment.
• Familiarity with NGS workflows and clinical laboratory operations (CLIA/CAP).
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify edge cases and failure modes.
• Excellent documentation skills with a focus on compliance and completeness.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience testing LIMS or LIS laboratory software systems.
• Knowledge of SDLC and validation frameworks like CSV or GxP.
• Exposure to test automation tools or scripting with Python and SQL.
• Experience with NGS file formats such as FASTQ, BAM, or VCF.
