TL;DR
Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer (Automotive): Serving as the technical liaison between purchasing, engineering, and the supply base to resolve manufacturing and quality issues for die cast and stamped components with an accent on APQP/PPAP compliance and process capability. Focus on conducting root cause analysis, performing on-site supplier assessments, and driving systemic corrective actions to ensure launch readiness and stable product quality.
Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Warren, Michigan (Hybrid: 3 days/week in office)

What you will do
- Assure supplier compliance with APQP and PPAP requirements for die cast and stamped components.
- Review and approve supplier quality plans, including Control Plans and PFMEAs.
- Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions for casting and stamping defects.
- Perform on-site supplier visits for process reviews, launch readiness, and workshops.
- Assess supplier capability in tooling, process parameters, and dimensional control.
- Support cross-functional teams in managing manufacturing variation and stack-up impacts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality, engineering, or manufacturing.
- Strong hands-on experience with casting and stamping processes in automotive applications.
- Proficiency in GD&T, print reading, and statistical quality control.
- Ability to travel up to 50% (domestic and international).
- Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Business or Engineering.
- Experience with Statistical Problem Solving (Red X, DFSS, DMAIC).
- Prior experience supporting Tier 1 automotive suppliers.
- Technical and Quality Certifications.
