What you will do

• Build secure, performant AI Platform services that power Copilot.
• Develop APIs supporting fine-tuning and deployment of Copilot’s core experience.
• Collaborate with Platform, infrastructure, application engineers, and AI Researchers to deliver next-generation AI products and services.
• Ship high-quality, well-tested, secure, and maintainable code.
• Tackle complex technical issues to improve performance, scalability, and user experience.
• Iterate quickly to get work into users’ hands despite roadblocks.

Requirements

• Local to the Seattle area and able to work in office 3 days a week; starting Jan 26, 2026, work from a designated Microsoft office at least four days a week if living within 50 miles (U.S.) of that location.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python (or equivalent).
• 6+ years (preferred) building scalable services on public cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP) with extensive datastore experience (RDBMS, key-value stores, etc.).
• 6+ years (preferred) building distributed systems at scale with knowledge spanning bare metal hosts to containers to networking.
• Experience working with AI platforms/frameworks/APIs and deploying/scaling language learning models.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally.
