What you will do

• Design, build, and operate high-performance distributed database systems.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to scale infrastructure significantly.
• Define long-term technical direction and guide system evolution.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and research teams to deliver scalable and reliable infrastructure.
• Investigate complex production issues across the stack and contribute to incident response and postmortems.

Requirements

• Location: Must be able to work onsite in San Francisco, United States.
• 4+ years of relevant industry experience with 2+ years leading large scale projects or teams.
• Experience with distributed systems at scale focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Proficiency in C++ and fluency in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and IaC tools (Terraform or similar).
• Experience with Linux systems, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and cross-functional teams.
