What you will do

• Design and build backend features using Java, Spring, and PostgreSQL.
• Lead design discussions, write RFCs, and manage technical trade-offs.
• Address technical debt and improve code quality through continuous refactoring.
• Troubleshoot production incidents using Datadog and BetterStack.
• Mentor team members through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with product managers and architects to own domain architecture.

Requirements

• Strong experience in backend development with Java, Spring, and Hibernate/JPA.
• Proven ability to lead technical design and mentor engineering teams.
• Experience with database schema design and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices including Docker, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Must be based in or able to work from Prague or Brno, Czech Republic.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with React and TypeScript for frontend tasks.
• Deep knowledge of event-driven and service-oriented architectures.
• Expertise in observability and ephemeral environments.
