Senior Software Quality Engineer (Finance)

Location: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Hybrid workplace model with at least four full days per week in an hirify.global office. Work shifts must overlap with Eastern Time up to 11 EST, with occasional off-hours production release support.

Salary: $100,000–$110,000 per year, plus incentive pay.

What you will do

• Design, execute, and oversee complex testing strategies for finance-domain software.
• Plan tests, prepare environments and data, manage defects and configuration, and publish results and status reports.
• Test Microsoft SQL, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL databases, including stored procedures, views, tables, and backend data validations.
• Test Master Data Management systems and execute tests against large data sets.
• Monitor application logs, perform first-level troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, and coordinate issue resolution with Development and other cross-functional teams.
• Support quality throughout the Agile lifecycle while partnering with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and project managers.

Requirements

• 7–9 years of experience in software quality assurance or software testing.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience testing Master Data Management systems and working with large data sets.
• Knowledge of Unix command-line tools, AWS S3, AWS Secrets Manager, AWS cost models, and application logs.
• Good knowledge of Python or a similar programming language and familiarity with workflow tools such as AutoSys, Airflow, or Stonebranch UAC.
• Bachelor of Technology or MCA; experience in financial services or asset management and knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and EPM are preferred.

Nice to have

• Test automation for large data projects.
• Knowledge of Alteryx, Informatica, or dbt.
• Familiarity with Bitbucket or other source control tools.
