Sr. Software Development Engineer in Test (AI)

Location: Kitchener, Canada

Salary: $149,000–$173,750 CAD annual base salary for exceptional talent based in Ontario, Canada.

What you will do

• Plan and implement functional, regression, and end-to-end tests across UI, API, and database layers.
• Develop and analyze capacity and performance tests for microservices and key product scenarios.
• Own the test strategy for AI Contact Center systems, including AI Routing, Digital Agent workflows, and Agentic Analytics.
• Use AI coding tools to generate test cases and build test software.
• Perform failure analysis, define quality KPIs, and communicate results to engineering and business stakeholders.
• Participate in design reviews, address edge cases, add test hooks, and mentor other engineers.

Requirements

• Typically 6+ years of relevant software development experience, preferably building test automation frameworks for SaaS applications.
• Strong programming expertise in a major language such as Python or Java.
• Experience designing scalable test automation frameworks and applying functional, integration, load, and performance testing methodologies.
• Deep familiarity with cloud technologies and REST service testing.
• Experience integrating tests into CI pipelines.
• Polished written and verbal communication skills in English and comfort working cross-functionally with teams in different geographies.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-driven evaluation methodologies and eval harnesses for non-deterministic systems.
• Experience validating enterprise-scale data infrastructure.
