TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Fintech): Designing and maintaining complex backend services and distributed systems for a core financial platform with an accent on scalability, reliability, and high-impact product features. Location: Must be based in Menlo Park, CA with in-person attendance expected at least three days per week.

Salary: $213,512–$230,000 per year

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex backend services, APIs, and data models.
  • Evolve distributed systems to support business-critical workflows and transactions.
  • Own backend components end-to-end from architecture to production support.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver large-scale product features.
  • Improve system reliability, performance, and scalability using distributed systems best practices.
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and technical mentorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in software engineering.
  • Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, or Scala.
  • Experience with backend service frameworks and RESTful/RPC APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, or DynamoDB.
  • Experience with distributed systems, observability tools, and automated testing.
