What you will do

  • Design and develop scalable backend services, APIs, microservices, and data pipelines for internal and customer-facing web applications.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to implement cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including automation for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Build and operate database and data engineering solutions across distributed stores (e.g., OpenSearch, Cassandra, Iceberg, Neo4j) and OLAP (Apache Pinot), plus caching (Redis/Valkey) and ETL/ingestion pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot complex distributed architectures, improve monitoring/logging, and drive performance and reliability optimizations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship, contribute to technical vision/strategy, and deliver integrated solutions with cross-functional partners.
  • Ensure operational excellence with advanced monitoring/alerting, high availability, and incident response procedures.

Requirements

  • Advanced programming expertise in Golang, Python, or similar languages.
  • 10+ years of production experience with large-scale distributed systems and proven microservices experience with scalable REST APIs.
  • Strong distributed systems fundamentals (concurrency, parallel processing, scalability patterns) and troubleshooting experience for complex architectures.
  • Experience building data platforms at scale with distributed ETLs/ingestion pipelines; message queue proficiency (Kafka or similar).
  • Database versatility across systems such as OpenSearch, Cassandra, Redis/Valkey; experience with OLAP and large-scale analytical problems.
  • Strong cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI) and ability to ensure security/compliance in production.

Nice to have

  • Practical experience with Golang, Cassandra, Kafka, OpenSearch, SQL, Redis, and Apache Pinot.
  • Cybersecurity or intelligence field experience.
  • Graph database knowledge (nodes, edges, relationships).
  • Open source contributions and/or technical community involvement.
  • Docker and Kubernetes experience.
